Welcome on the website of Quinta do Souto (Portuguese meaning “farm of the chestnut trees”). Our beautiful farm of 12 ha is situated in a marvelous hilly landscape with many orchards, vineyards and forests, where you still find the typical country houses.

The Private Living Family Trust offers private accomodation. We have a guesthouse with four rooms. There is a kitchen, and nice dining room with sofa and woodburner. Besides that there are three little appartments, a parking for campers and caravans and other camping options.  As a voluntary service we ask a suggested donation in return.

Our 'Quinta' has an ecological organic garden with the use of the principles of permaculture, a rambling forest and a natural forest that guests can visit freely if they want so and where volunteers can work with us together.

Besides our human guests there are also other permanent residents namely : two ponies, sheep, goats, ducks, chickens and cats. Our management promotes  wild fauna and flora and we are therefor proud to have many not so common species like the mongoose, weasel, the fire salamander, the slowworm, the hoopoe, the barn owl, the European Green Woodpecker, the nightingale and many many more. Besides this, it is a place for people who want to join us for a longer period.We offer an amazing place for a quiet or active vacation, for volunteer work, for a retreat, or for organic farming, Know we are there to help you in case of some questions you might have.
